$220 — From Gullfoss, four hours, 4.7 across 323 reviews. The same shape of outing from the other Golden Circle meeting point, two dollars more and a slightly higher rating. If you are already going to the waterfall, this is the version that costs you no extra driving.

$225 — From Húsafell, two hours, 4.9 across 133 reviews. The shortest ticket here, and the highest-rated listing on this site with more than a hundred opinions behind it. A Super Jeep to the ice, a maximum of 14 guests, and a full hour of riding inside a two-hour window. The catch is the meeting point: Húsafell is the western approach to the ice cap, a separate drive from the Golden Circle side.

$157 — Gullfoss, three and a half hours, 4.8. The lowest number on the whole site, and the one place where Langjökull snowmobiling is not what you are buying: this is the Red Monster Truck out on the ice, with hot cocoa and kleinur, glacier golf and sledding. It is a genuinely good day and it is honest about being a different one. If riding a machine yourself is the point, this is not the ticket.

It is tempting to read the top of the Langjökull snowmobiling table as the same hour with a bigger number on it. It is not. Each of these listings is buying back something the cheap tickets ask you to supply yourself.

$338 — ten hours, 4.7 across 1,491 reviews. Our pick, and the listing with the deepest evidence on the site. It buys the driving from the city, the three classic stops, and the hour on the machines. If you have one day and no car, this is the whole day in one ticket, and 1,491 people have had the chance to say whether it works.

$408 — four hours from Gullfoss, rated 5.0. The operator sells the distance itself: a faster machine and more ground covered on the ice. Five reviews is a thin record and we say so, but if the riding is the reason you are on this page rather than the scenery around it, this is the listing built for that.

$419 — ten hours, 4.8 across 191 reviews. The highest fare on the site, and the one we would defend most easily. Pickup in the city, a ride on the ice cap, and hot springs afterwards, with 191 opinions at 4.8 behind it. An hour in the wind on an ice cap followed by hot water is a better-ordered day than it sounds on paper, and nobody who books it ends up wishing they had saved the difference.

$395, $401 and $403 — the super jeep days. Ten hours, the three stops and a one-hour ride, in a vehicle with a handful of seats instead of a coachful. Rated 4.9, 4.1 and 4.5. You are paying for the group size, and on a day this long that is a real thing to pay for.
